日本の伝統的文化や芸術、工芸は歴史を経て、時には異文化を取り入れながら新しいアートやデザインとして育まれてきました。千二百年の歴史を持つ文化都市京都と日本を代表する近代都市東京と大阪、それぞれのフィールドで活躍する建築家やデザイナー、アーティストが饗宴します。「日本のかたち展」は、日本の伝統的なかたち、美意識、感性を現代のインテリア空間や生活スタイルに、新しく機能する室礼として提案する展覧会です。今回もヨーロッパの伝統と現代が融合するミラノにて、「Interior & Garden」をテーマに、デザイナー、アーティストが日本のかたちを提案いたします。

京都をはじめ日本には、現在多くの職人たちがすばらしい伝統を受け継いだものづくりをしています。 その伝統、工芸の可能性を新しい時代のクリエイターたちが、品質の高い製品づくりに昔の文化をいかしてゆくことはすばらしいと思います。

Many artisans from Kyoto and around Japan create highly-skilled products that bring the sophisticated traditions of yesterday to today.
The new generation of talented artists and designers have rediscovered the importance of the traditions and culture of old Japan and have incorporated such significance in their works of art.

1969年よりイタリアと日本でデザインの制作活動を始める。
日本やヨーロッパのメーカーから、
家電、ロボット、家庭日用品などのデザインをする。
特に、日本各地の伝統工芸・地場産業の活性化、
およびクリエイティブディレクターとして多方面で活躍する。

Product Designer
Toshiyuki Kita extended his creative field from Japan to Italy as an environmental and industrial designer since 1969. He has created many hit products for European and Japanese manufacturers, ranging from furniture, LCD TV sets, robots to household goods and appliances.
He is also involved with traditional crafts and developing local industries.

This brand was born from the Makuzu kiln with over 350 years of history. We propose a modern way to offer a time of comfort and hospitality through the traditional techniques of Kyoyaki, a style of pottery in Kyoto. 喝-KATTU showko/kazuo not only produces the fine pottery tableware but also seeks a new style of tableware, which brings you a time filled with the spirit of hospitality.

◎喝 (kattus) ··· A zen word which means energy helping up to let go of worldly desires.

「数寄＋間」

「数寄」とは、平安時代から遡り使われた言葉で、「好き」と同語源です。
意味は、風流・風雅に心を寄せること。 また、茶の湯・生け花などの風流・風雅の道です。 「数寄」に関するデザインの特徴は、質素ながらも洗練された意匠となっている事です。 間（ま）とは空間的または時間的なへだだりのこと。 「ま」と読む場合は部屋の意味にも使われ、また、人と人をつなぐ意味合いも生まれます。 これらをテーマにした新しい「数寄」＋間を提案していきます。 日本古来の和（几帳と床几）を今世紀風に表現してみました。 なごみの和を感じてください。

「SUKI＋Ma」

We have many beatuful traditional Japanese culture.
The word of "Suki" is used in Japan from Heian Era
(the Medieval Period in Japan).
Literally mean of "Suki" is "like or love".
It is the way to like elegant accomplishment such as Japanese tea ceremony
and the Japanese art of flower arrangement.
The sesign of "Suki" characteristic is simple yet elegant.
"Ma" means the gap of time and space.
"Ma" also is the usual word for the "room".
It is inportant space axis to build ties among people.
We arrange the classic in a modern style.
We present new "Suki" and "Ma" under the theme of these Japanese culture.
Please feel new traditional Japanese fine shapes and colors.

日本の灯りのための切り紙飾り

「爽爽」さわ-さわ

ほの暗い中に浮き立つ「切り紙飾り」は白く清々しい。
日本の神社仏閣や祭りの風景のなかで、
日常的に目にすることができる「切り紙」。
古来から「切り紙」には日本人の祈りが存在します。
さわさわと、ひらひらと、揺れる気配に息をのむほど
清楚な美しさを感じさせます。
「さわーさわ」とは風が木立の葉をそよがせながら、
さわやかに吹くような様子。
すっきりと澄み渡るような心情を表す"ことば"を灯りに見立てています。

La Passementerie Japonaise

SAWA SAWA

- The Art of Paper Cutting for a Japanese Light –
"Kirikami" ornament in the dim light; its pure whiteness stands out and brings a sense of purity and refreshment.
"Kirikami" is the traditional art of paper cutting. By only folding and cutting of two-dimensional papers, craftsmen create three-dimensional ornaments for sacred occasions. One can see it normally in shrines and at festivals. Traditionally, "Kirikami" symbolizes a prayer in Japan.
How graceful they are when rustling in the soft breeze… The magnificent sight takes my breath away. The title "SAWA SAWA" is the sound to depict the trees singing in the fresh breeze. This lighting represents the serene and refreshing sentiment.

掛軸

千利休は「茶の湯」の席における「床の間」の掛軸の重要性を説いた。
客人、季節、昼夜を考慮し、
掛軸でその「場の格式」までを表現することを求めた。
この作品では、山水、花鳥、墨跡など「光と共にある」ものではなく、
「影」を切り取り「掛軸」に仕立て上げてみた。

Kakejiku （Scroll）

Rikyu Sen emphasizes the importance of hanging a scroll (kakejiku) in an alcove (tokonoma) in one's tearoom. He suggests that one should honor the dignity of the room by selecting a kakejiku to harmonize
with the nature of the visitors, the season, and whether the occasion is being held during the day or at night.
For this work, images of kakejiku are projected on Japanese paper, with beams of light shown in colors suggesting mountains, water, flowers, birds, and black ink, that are typical of old Japanese houses.
